The 1st Movie was received by mixed critiques from critics. Roger Ebert named it "nearly as good for a James Bond movie". Adam Smith of Empire Online called the movie, "Sporadically entertaining, but very seriously hampered by a really choppy screenplay", and rating it three out of five stars.
